What Cool Things Would Jesus Say at Your Funeral?
Mary DeMuth poses this question in her blog today. Read below her answers. We “challenge” you to take part in her “assignment” and then come back and share your experience and revelations with us. Enjoy!
I’ve been reading The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey. One of the habits is “Begin with the end in mind.” He asks the reader to visualize his/her funeral, reflecting on what family, friends, co-workers and church members would say (or what we would hope they’d say).
It got me thinking. What if Jesus came back to earth to perform our funerals? What would He say about our lives? We get a hint in Matthew 25 when we read, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
But what specifically would He say about my life? I believe we’ll start a growth revolution if we take a moment to think about what He would say. To do that, ask yourself five questions. Read more…
We are all missionaries. Some of us are missionaries in our own neighborhoods and others travel around the world. This is a recent blog post by Ryan and Amanda who sold everything and moved to South America to serve.
We have the honor and privilege to serve cross-culturally with friends that are all over the world. This post is the convictions, testimonies and stories of two of our dearest friends serving in India. We hope and pray that this will allow you to experience world missions the way many people do throughout the world. We pray this will be an eye-opening post and will change the way you view missions as a whole. Read, enjoy and please pray for our friends as well as people all over the world that are bringing the gospel to the unreached. This is their experience… Read the rest of the post here.
Happy Memorial Day!
We honor those who have served and sacrificed and those who continue to serve and sacrifice to protect our freedoms and the ideals that founded this great country. We are one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Have a safe and happy holiday weekend. God bless you all!
Love! Love! Go! – A Reblog
In keeping with the message that James Clark delivered last Sunday May 20, Todd Bowman shares his slogan for the Ground Zero Youth Group: Love! Love! Go! Below is a copy of a post on his blog that sums up Jesus’ instructions to all of us.
For the past two years at Ground Zero Youth Group, many of my messages boil down to three basic statements.
- Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind
- Love your neighbor as yourself.
- Go into all the world making disciples of all nations.
For simplicities sake, we’ve brought it down into this simple slogan! Read the rest of Todd’s post then please come back and tell us what you think of Love! Love! Go!
The Power of a Phone Call – A Reblog
Jessica Turner who blogs on The Mom Creative wrote a post for (in)courage this morning about how important it is to stay in contact with each other. How many times have we seen people missing at a school event or church service and wondered where they were, but never took the time to call and find out? Below is an excerpt from her post: Read more…
That Tugging Feeling – A Reblog
Have you ever been in that place where you know you’re supposed to do something but not quite sure what that is? Lately familiar phrases like “holding pattern” and “waiting to see what happens” have been heard around the campus.
Shelby Kendall, one of the (in)courage writers, posted a blog this morning about this very thing. “That Tugging Feeling” is a great perspective of “in God’s perfect time”. After you read her post, come back and let us know how it spoke to you.
Memorization Scripture – Romans 10:9
The following is compiled by Helen Westberg
Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved
Precious, simple, and positive assertion! Speak with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is the risen Lord, and you will be saved. Oral confession declares, confirms, and seals the belief in the heart. Believe and preach the Word of God. Faith comes through hearing, and salvation comes through faith.
